MAINE STATE GRANGE The Maine State Grange met in Lewis ton last week The feature of the day Tuesday was the address of State Mas ter C S Stetson He gave a brief re port of the doings of the National grange referring to the position he took as an insurgent and said that his sole ob ject was the bettering of the conditions in the National grange He spoke of the Kegley trial and explained the posi tion taken by the representatives from Maine He was heartily applauded when he said that he felt that the machine of the National grange is brok n and said that the increase in membership had been satisfactory Dishonest officials and political combinations have discredited the Prohibitory law he declared Hon est men men of courage and integrity men in whom the people have confidence are needed in public office They can be found and the grange should aid in the finding I have faith to believe that the frange of the future will use all its in uence in creating a widespread public sentiment and demand for an honest en forcement of the law prohibiting the manufacture and sale the use and
