FRANK W GOWEN Frank W Gowen widely known in temperance work and as a very active business man left Waterville last week to locate in Southern California Mr Gowen has been one of the most active workers in Maine for Prohibition by voice and pen and from a boy an earnest Good Templar in which organization he became very prominent He has held high office in this order in Maine also in the Supreme Lodge of the world having been Supreme Lecturer and organizer and visited many States in the Union in its interest also Canada and only a few years ago was sent to Europe twice in succession by the Maine Good Templars to represent them in the worlds sessions of the order Mr Gowen has also been engaged in the insurance business for many years and it is understood that he will engage in the same business in Cali fornia He is a gentleman of dis tinguished presence and will be missed in Maine but all of his friends throughout the State will wish him suc cess in his business undertaking on the r acuu tuasi COST OF LIVING THE SAME TODAY AS FORTY YEARS AGO In the
