JIRS ELIZA BECKETT HUNNEWELL llah Attended Campiueetlns fr 73 year Mrs Eliza Beckett Hunnewell whose pleasant home is on the corner of Charles and Park streets in this city where she and a sister ftnd niece live together is supposed to bear the palm for constant and regular attendance upon the campmeeting of the Metho dists in eastern Maine Mrs Ilunnewell began when these annual gatherings were held in Liucoln ville and afterwards went to Bucksport yearly until 1848 when a campmeeting was held at Islesboro at which a com mittee was appointed to select a per manent location East Xorthport was chosen and in J une of the following year the Wesleyan Grove Campmeeting Association was formed land purchased on a shore site and tlie place named Xorthport Camp Ground Mrs Ilunnewell was present at the organization and the first camp meet ing in the new grove and has beer a zealous participant in all the services there ever since This year therefore will round out the 73d of this camp meeting devotees uninterrupted service in these first temples of the Lord Mrs Ilunnewell was born in Orono Xov 12 1814 Her father was William Beckett a captain of
