Description
Detailed map of the north-central states showing drainage, cities and towns, township and county boundaries, and the railroads with names and emphasis on the main line. Incorporated in 1863 as the Milwaukee and St. Paul Railway. See items 464 and 465. In 1874 the word Chicago was added to the name. LC has a Rand McNally and Company map, measuring 35 x 45 cm., which uses the new name for the first time.
