"Compiled from locations filed in 1837-8 at the office of the county clerk, Worcester, Mass. from original deeds and plans on file at the Boston & Albany Railroad Engineer's Office. Green Lines compiled from grade crossing and other plans. Note: in 1867 the Western R.R. Corp. and the Boston & Worcester R.R. Corp. were consolidated to form the Boston & Albany R.R. Co." Shows the area of Fairfax County, Va., which was the site of the Battle of Bristoe Station. The map is oriented with Cedar Run to the south, Bristoe to the west and indicates the route of the Orange and Alexandria Railroad. Also indicated are A. P. Hill's Corps, Army of Northern Virginia, engaging the Union's II Corps during its withdrawal toward Centreville, Va.

Shows a canal, roads, turnpikes (complete, under construction, and proposed), railroad, seats of government, and seats of justice in Southwest Ohio and Northern Kentucky. Date presumed to be between 1832-1835 based on the inclusion of a railroad between Frankfort and Lexington, Kentucky. Beneath legend: This plat, believed to be correctly extracted from the last edition of Hough & Bourne's map of the state of Ohio, and Munsel's map of the state of Kentucky, is respectfully forwarded to the Senators in Congress from Kentucky & Ohio by their obt. hble. sevt. Company organizational diagrammatic map drawn in the form of a branching tree that identifies in its branches all of the functional offices of the railroad by name. Shows railroad trackage branches as straight lines radiating from the central office of the "Gen'l Sup't". The branches extend from New York (State) westward thru northern New Jersey and northern Pennsylvania to Lake Erie. "Published by permission."
