The purpose of this map is uncertain; it may have been to identify the rail lines within the corridor between Fredericksburg and Petersburg. Included (as phrased by Sneden) are the Richmond and Danville Railroad, Lynchburg Railroad, Norfolk and Petersburg Railroad, Virginia Central Railroad, and the Richmond Fredericksburg (Railroad). A few key events in the entire war are indicated such as the surrender of Lee at Appomattox.

The steamship El Sol on her last trip from New York to New Orleans made the run between the bars on the ocean and gulf course in four days and twentyone hours the quickest on record She ran from Eads Jetties to New Orleans wharf in sevenl hours making six teen miles an hour against the cur rent a speed equal to that of the great R E Lee when she made her famous run from New Orleans to Cairo and St Louis in July 1870 now nearly twentyone years ago It costs one of the swiftest ocean racers 85000 to make a round trip voyage from Europe to America and return and the coal expense is from 15000 to 18000 A Womder Worker Mr Frank Huffmao a young man of Burlingtdn Ohio states that he had been under the care of two prominent physicians and used their treatment until he was not able to get around They pronounced his case to be Consumption and in curable He was persuaded to try Dr Kings New Discovery for Con sumption Coughs and Colds and at that time was not able to walk across the street without resting He found before he
