There is a photographing machine on a lower floor of Grand Central Station which is a marvel even in this day of mechanical miracles In appearance it resembles the body of a honsom cab You step inside sit insert a qarter in a slot and press a button In just one minute there is delivered to you automatically your photograph already framed For an other nickel a mailing envelope is also furnished The first days of spring have broght a new look to New York Side streets which had been piled high with snow are clean from warm showers Store windows have chang ed from their winter dressing to bright mildweather colors like the clothing of passing pedestrians Cen tral Park has taken on a verdant mantle set with diamondlike lakes And out in the suburbs residents have removed their overcoats too soon done too much raking on their vards have become overheated caught colds and now are taking the modern version of sulphur and mo lasses I recently had occasion to ride the Pere Marquette railrdftd from Grand Rapids Michigan to Chicago and I was much impressed by the dining car service This railroad is owned by the Chesapeake
