Interesting Papers Read at the Opening Sessions of the Maine Press Association Continued from Page One feystcm Mr Burleigh spoke at the afternoon session and what hfe had to nav was of high value to hi s aud ience Nichols Chosen President Frank B Nichols of The Bath Times was elected President of the Maine Press Association at the morning session Thursday at the Au gusta House He succeeds Charles H Fogg of Houlton whose term ex pires at this meeting R T ratten of Bkowhegan was reelected secre tarytreasurer in spite of his modest ly expressed belief that SUowhegan had hadthe honor long enough and that It would be for the benefit of the association toelect someone else The first session of tho meeting was called to order shortly after 10 oclock by President Charles H Fogg who Immediately introduced Mayor Hanford L Fogg of Augusta Mayor Fogg said that It was an honor to gfeet such a gathering of represen tatives of the press and as great a pleasure to welcome them upon be half of the citizens of Augusta to the capltol city because when newspaper men gather there Is a spirit of good fellowship and also
