MUST INSPECT ALL HIDES FOR SALE IN MONTANA While a hide dealer may lawfully have in his possession hides which have been purchased outside of the state he can not sell or offer for sale such hides without their being inspected and tagged Attorney General L A Foote ruled In an opinion handed down re cently The law reads it shall be unlaw ful for any person or persons firm corporation or association to sell or offer for sale any hide or hides from meat cattle which have not been in spected by authorized inspectors GIRLS STUDYING STATE HISTORY BITTER ROOT SCOUTS ARE MAK ING A SPECIAL EFFORT TO LEARN ABOUT MONTANA Girls Scouts of Hamilton and Grantsdale are receiving instruction in Montana history as a result of a special effort put forth by that com munity Scout committee They were taken to Stevensville where they were conducted through historic St Marys mission Montanas first church and to Fort Owen which is now being partially restored Miss Mary Winslet t a resident of Stevensville since the sixties conducted the tour through the mission and the old quarters of the Rev Father Anth ony Ravalli earlyday priest Mrs J B Mitchell
