f THE DURANT NEWS R PUBUSHED EVERY THURSDAY _ Hazel Brannon Editor and Publisher Subscription in Advance200 Per Year MEMBER MISSISSIPPI PRESS ASSOCIATION Entered as Second Class mail matter in the Postoffice at Durant Mississippi Liquor Dealers Again Three weeks ago we wrote an editorial about the liquor dealers in Holmes county In it we said tha there were 42 places in Holmes county with Federal licenses to distribute liquor and wines According to our record we listed seven places in the city limits of Tchula on the western section side of our county among the 42 Mayor W C Perry of Tchula checked upon the places listed and found that only two of these places were inside the city limits the others being on the out skirts Mayor Perry said that he made an effort to keep up with what was going on in the city and that he didn t believe these two places sold liquor Thus Tchula is cleared up hub actually sell whiskey to the best of our and official knowledge We are glad to make this statement We can only say that we wish we could say the same of the other communities in Holmes
