W 1 One of Washingtons Industries So tremendous is the business of running the United States Goverment that Washington even to Washingtonians is considered a Government city as applied to industry It is true the Governments one hundred thousand odd employes with a monthly payroll of some ten millions bf dollars is a tremendous factory yet throughout the city are hundreds of smaller industries giving employment to thousands of men and women and turning back in the business channels millions of dollars each year Such an institution is THE WASHINGTON TIMESHERALD Whose Weekly Payroll for 594 Employes Is in Excess of 24000 These 594 employes are for the most part heads of families or at least breadwinners and probably suppbrt 2000 people which is a small community in itself a community spending for the necessities and many of the luxuries of life over a million and a quarter dollars each year Buying Power to be reckoned witha farreaching influence in merchandising real estate and financial circles THE WASHINGTON TIMESHERALD A National Institution With Washingtons Interest Always at Heart will soon move into its new home One of the largest and most modern newspaper plants in the United States is being
