RAIDS STIR NEGROES 2 Speakeasies Close After Five Arrests Are Made WAGONLOAD OF FLASKS FOUND Capt Mulhall and Squad from the Fourth Precinct Spread Consterna tion Among Alley Dwellers in the SouthwestRobert Brown a Walk ing Saloon Placed Behind Bars Determined that no liquor shall be sold in the southwest without the countenance of the law Capt Mulhall of the Fourth precinct last night marshaled his forces end figuratively speaking swooped down on the alleged speakeasies gathering five negroes into the confines of the sta tion The accused illegal dispensers of spirit uous beverages will be arraigned in Police Court this morning on charges of main taining unlicensed bars A wagonloag of whisky flasks beer bottles and sev eral kegs will also he removed to Police Court where they will be submitted as evidence Capt Mulhall hag been planning the raid for ten days and has kept the sus pected persons and houses under survell lance He placed Lieut Flathers in charge of the raiding party which con wisted of Sergt Emerson Polcemen Fearson Boyle Allen Spruce and Hlii ton First Arrest Made The first arrest was made In Maine avenue where a house at 338 was en tered and
