General street map showing wards, piers, pier numbers, and streetcar lines. Shows 1-mile radial distance from City Hall. Issued as the summer 1870 no. of "Mackey's shipping indicator" (broadsheet). "Entered according to act of Congress, in the year 1870, by Joseph Mackey, in the Clerk's Office of the District Court of the Southern District of New York." Imperfect: Fold-lined, torn (halved) at fold line, annotated in ink in lower margin "Deposited June 15ʺ 1870, no. 877." Includes text, descriptive directory of ship arrivals/departures, and cameo impression of the District Court. Available also through the Library of Congress Web site as a raster image.
