The Committee on Pensions, to whom was referred the Bill (S. 2183) granting a pension to Hiram R. Ellis, have examined the same and report that the records in this case show that claimant enlisted as a sergeant in Company I, Fifth Michigan Cavalry, August 19, 1862, and was discharged June 5, 1866
